Hailing from Cornas, in the heart of the Shiraz region of Rhone Valley, France is Halle aux Vins' co-founder, Ludovic Deloche. Upon moving to the UK in 2002, he spent the next five years working in the wine industry in London.
Ludovic set out for Australia, with a view to exploring New World Wine. Shortly after moving to Melbourne, he found himself working at Melbourne wine institution, Gertrude St Enoteca. It was here that Ludovic saw the potential in combining his knowledge of European and Australian wine markets. Shortly after, in 2007, Halle aux Vins was founded with the ambitious goal of introducing lesser known wines to the Australian market. Ludovic continues to be inspired by the passion of the Australian food and wine industry today.
Born and raised in Melbourne, some of Marijiana Vidak’s earliest memories were of school holidays spent working with her grandfather in his King Valley vineyards. These same vineyards would eventually be passed down to her father, and were often responsible for bringing her family together.
Upon completing her studies in Accounting and Qualitative Business Analysis, Marijana met Ludovic. A mutual passion for the wine industry was discovered, and the pair quickly set the wheels in motion to create Halle aux Vins.
In addition to overseeing the Financial Management and Customer Service arms of the business, Marijana is also involved with a number of not-for-profit organisations.
Helene Laffitte grew up in rural Marseilles, having arrived in Melbourne by way of Sydney, where she worked with European wine distributors.
Growing up in a region rich in wine pedigree, Helene has always had a deep passion for agriculture. It was only natural, then, for her to study a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Management and Marketing of the Wine Industry.
Away from Halle aux Vins, Helene is a keen lover of the outdoors, and has spent considerable time travelling and capturing her adventures with her beloved camera. Helene’s everyday passions are simple; good food, interesting wines and great company.
The newest member of the Halle aux Vins team, Matteo Frediani grew up in a small town in northern Piemonte.
Spending his childhood in Italy, eating good traditional food in his family’s restaurant, Matteo developed a lifelong interest in food and wine. Later Matteo combined his passion for food and wine with a love for travel.
After travelling, seeing the world, and spending many years as a cocktail specialist and bartender, Matteo decided to discover more about the wine world, so in 2014 he became a sommelier. He worked as assistant sommelier at a Michelin star restaurant in Italy before moving to Vancouver, then Sydney, where he was a wine specialist and manager at a premium Vintage Cellars store before joining the team at Halle Aux Vins - a natural fit !
